Why not?
Beside the fact that getting divorced after having kids is trashy?
If the husband is making millions, there's no excuse to just hire a nanny and continue your medical career in the event something should happen to the husband or job. Being overly reliant on one parent's income means the other one is fricked if something happens.

What if your "excuse" is the wife and husband want one of the actual parents to raise the kid and not a nanny?

Follow the thread. It isnt hard
You are arguing over 2 wealthy successful people divorcing in a thread about a back up dancer and a successful wealthy entertainer. I'm saying your argument had absolutely nothing to do with the current thread, completely different in fact.

I responded to the notion the law should be entirely changed based on this situation, and others like it.....
So i presented a situation in which the current law makes sense

quote:You can argue he'd never have been able to "build that" annual salary without the wife's sacrifice of a job to take care of the kids and all of that other stuff so the husband could focus more on the job. That could be, and often is, a joint decision in a marriage.
In the words of Obama, you didn't build that.
He makes millions and they can afford child care. She chose to skip med school.

Exactly... one of the few times I've ever heard someone argue that parents should have less involvement in their kids lives.
