I've been working down in Kaplan for longer than I care to admit. Place hasn't changed at all in the entire time I've been there.

The thing is its like a ghost town during the day when I'm there. I swear over half the people who live there don't work there. It's a steady exodus of traffic out of Kaplan down hwy 14 in the morning when I'm driving in.

Well, yeah, it's kinda become a bedroom community. Everyone I know that lives in Kaplan or one of its suburbs works in Lafayette.

Well, there aren’t many career opportunities in Kaplan.

You can work at one of the schools, the hospital, one of the banks, or the telephone company.

Abbeville has a nice little down town area that has made a come back in the last few years, you have a number of options of relatively good places to eat and a cool bar or 2. The food isn’t going to blow you away, but it’s a nice change. We drive up there to eat occasionally from my camp in PI for a change is scenery. We always see a few decent looking girls etc. As far as the town I find it to be primarily white and ok. Kaplan seams to be lower income and less opportunities for pretty much everything. I usually just drive through and don’t stop unless it’s for fuel, at Gulfway or suires. Good luck there are some good people, but also some shitty ones

I expected not to be one of them.

I can see from posts that laffy is the better choice.

They are both shitty, but Abbeville is much better than Kaplan.

I spend a decent amount of time in both as I have family from Kaplan (that I don’t claim in public settings), and my in-laws live on the outskirts of Abbeville.

Abbeville has a much larger financially “successful” crowd than Kaplan, but they both have an abundance of poors and trash.

ETA: I see that you edited, yes Lafayette is light years better than both of the other two options.

And “poodoo” is a word that people from Kaplan use to describe trashy people.

Thanks epic.
I seem to have a hypnotic interest in sw la, and its women. Cajun. Dark, French speaking.
My brain says lives no further south than Alex. I'm pretty sure hurricanes are not my cup of tea. I drove north from l.c. when hurricane was expected. A tornado came at me in Winnfield. I had very recently got a ticket for flying up the hill going south into Winnfield, a speed trap at the crest. But I just floored it to out run tornado in 25 mph zone.

I love the fishing. Don't like dealing with ducks.
