A dialogue about what?
If people don't get this, then that mindset is part of the problem.
Obviously, the authoritative just follow the law and don't resist mantra is not working, nor is the current state of the protests.
Is it?

A couple of things:
1st - Kansas
2nd - it could be a good financial investment

Just follow the law and don't resist works 99% of the time. Overarching changes need to be made because a small minority of the people don't know how to act like civilized human beings?

Let me add this. Do people express outrage during breast cancer awareness month and when people wear pink ribbons and stuff? Do people get angry and scream "all cancers matter"? And by the way, the outrage at the moniker BLM, started before protests became violent.

No.
What's your point?
ETA: I hate when people hide their point in the form of a stupid question.

So....what is this proposed dialogue supposed to cover, then?

I actually do think other cancers deserve more run.

My point is people express outrage at the term BLM. Same concept. Breast cancer awareness month does not mean other cancers don't matter. Same with BLM.
And I've ignored your childish remarks. You obviously can't have a discussion without them.

With the rate that black people are killing each other, the BLM movement is almost comical.

B. What childish remarks? Calling your breast cancer analogy stupid? My sincerest apologies, but it was.

I agree. But that does not get rid of the problem with BLM.
If there was this much energy devoted to BOBC then it might make a difference. Optimistically that might be one Outcome of having an ongoing dialogue or whatever

That's why it's hard to give the BLM movement any credence whatsoever. It seems that black lives only matter when police are involved. Other than that, black lives don't mean shite.
Black guy killed by a white cop. Here come the riots, protests, 24/7 media coverage, presidential addresses, etc.
50 black guys killed by other black guys, not a fricking peep.
Until we see the same fervor (celebrities, media, rallies, protests, boycotts, etc.) for BOBC, the BLM movement is a sham.

wow..some of the comments..
ok in the media it is being pushed that all cops hate blacks. Now blacks are shooting cops.
So you have a BBQ to help with race relations. Black people get to interact with police and realize that the police are not bad people with racist motivation to kill them. This will go along way for the younger black people that are being influenced by the media.
I do not see a problem with this. I agree that it would be nice to BLM group invite the police, but somebody has to take the first step.
If this BBQ saves at least one life then it was worth it.

And only white police v. black civilian violence.
Black cop kills black guy? Not a peep.
Black cop killed by civilian? Yawn.

I actually see a very clever attempt to undercut local support for the BLM "leadership" and their Dr. Evil puppetmaster. This isn't aimed at creating a dialogue with bussed in agitators, it's aimed at cutting their balls off. I hope it works and I hope we see more of it.
