I'm seeing ads on YouTube asking Louisianans to oppose the Kaiser takeover of a louisiana based system. It's sponsored by a union so maybe a Kaiser takeover isn't so bad.

I doubt it.
Kaiser Permanente is a vertically integrated system, meaning that they are the insurance. You pay your premium to Kaiser and you can use their services. The docs are on salary. While they are paid well, there is no unlimited learnings like the contractors associated with Ochsner.
I don't think this will ever happen.

The Kaiser system is great for patients. If you pay your premium, you can get treatment. It's like a super HMO where the providers can't bankrupt the patients.
But the issue here is that Louisiana docs won't sign up for that kind of employment.

More and more, Ochsner docs are employed by Ochsner. Especially outside the hospital.
