Earlier, a buddy of mine called me from NOLA, and said that the city is basically putting band aids on pot holes 3 weeks before the SB. Said streets are closed due to construction. Is this true??

It's NOLA what else would you expect?

FWIW I have no idea if that's true or not.

Anything they can do to create the illusion that the city is not a total dump, but just until the Super Bowl is over.

There are over 500 road projects going on in the city around the quarter, Downtown and Warehouse District. You can tell they’re just filling holes now instead of the major road construction they’ve been doing over the last 2 years.

Claiborne eastbound is totally torn up from Louisiana to the expressway. They were breaking asphalt when we went thru there on Wednesday

I’m pretty sure whatever they are trying to fix could have waited

I went to the FQ in 2002 when NE brought a TON of fans, and it was a freaking blast. This was 4 months after 9/11 and the city was clean, safe, and everyone was having a good time. WTF happened? Maybe i just miss the old days.

That's probably when Torres was in control of the street cleaning. He had that place looking great on the regular.

The city is doing years of worth of deferred maintenance in just a matter of months.

It is a shame because the one thing NOLA does well is a host a party but this is going be like showing up to a party and someone shite on the rug.
