I no longer trust my local tire and lube center. I bought a set of wild peak at3 tires on amazon last year for my wife. She hit a pot hole on the rear drivers side that punctured and ruined the tire. Amazon sent another one out and I had tire shop put it on and paid them to rotate tires too, thinking the new one would get more wear up front. My wife comes home with the car and the new tire is in the same spot, and so are other wheels. Sure as shite they charged her for a tire rotation. I called them, and the dude I talked to said it made more sense to keep it in rear for traction. I said I get that but why charge me for something (rotation) you didn’t do. He said honest mistake and he would give me free oil change next time. I don’t trust these dudes and will be doing my own oil changes going forward

You'd get better service if you bought the tire from them.

Yeah I had mine changed recently and the doofus didn’t tighten the filter and it was leaking. I’ll change my own from now on

And typically cheaper too. They charge a premium to service/install tires from outside vendors. My tire guy basically install for cost and provides lifetime rotation.

Hit and miss nowadays. I was at a dealership couple of months ago. Customer brought his new truck in for 1st service, note 1st service. Tire rotation, oil change. Well, gets in his truck, about 2-3 miles from dealership, a tire comes off, rim and all. Had it towed back in, the lugs had not been tightened on drivers rear rim. fricked his truck up. Talk about pissed!

There are some things you have other people do when you get to a certain point in life, oil is one. It’s a waste of my time to do my own oil.... I will however change the oil in my boat.

I change my own oil, more because I enjoy doing and teaching my 7 year old about basic auto maintenance than saving money though.

Maybe be a better driver and stop blaming your shorty driving on your fake wife

I been changing my own oil for years. It's cheaper plus it really doesn't take that much time. Took me about thirty minutes and then five minutes to wash my hands.

I get my tires rotated every time I change my oil. I mark my tires just for this to make sure they are rotated.

Many sketchy places won't even give a frick. They actually sound pretty decent. Sounds like it might be your loss going forward.

Last time I paid for an oil change, I ended up with both an uninserted dipstick and a loose drain plug.

Idiocracy is here.

What a coincidence. I’ve changed my own my entire adult life and just said frick it and stopped.

I always buy 2-3 oil filters and keep lots of oil in storage building. Enough oil to do 2-3 oil changes. Takes me about 15 minutes to change it. I actually save myself lots of time doing it myself.
