And you're also a complete frickhead.

I, too, have taught at a university, for classes considered by many on the OT to be some of the worst. If I had an A student miss an exam, we would have a conversation and find some solution. Over the course of over ten years, with nearly two thousand students, few missed the final. I always hated professors who adopted holier than thou attitudes, and swore I'd never be that arse in the class myself.

On the bright side you'll probably make an A again next semester.

Life's not fair. It all depends on the student. If it's an honest mistake and you're a good student I think you should be able to take it. A good student as in one that has made just about every class, turned in every homework, and has talked to the professor outside of class a few times. If your some jackoff that sleeps through class routinely, or is constantly begging for makeup work, you're S.o.L.
