Lotta hate in this thread.
I had a 2.02 graduating GPA.
Ended up working at a think tank in DC, working with public policy on the state level, and own an insurance agency.
Shake the haters.
Work hard and opportunities present themselves.

Correct, you need a 2.0 to continue to receive benefits. The VA would have stopped paying him and the school semesters ago.

OK - listen to me for a minute. Thus is what you need to do. When you do get back into school, take the two courses required for the degree. Then retake at least two courses you made Ds in. For God’s sake, take the 4+ months this will take and be serious about school. This will get your grades above 2.0 and will get you the degree.

First of all don’t listen to peons, they delight in others misfortune. That’s bulllshit. Never let anyone tell you no that can’t say yes. What gets done and what we tell the world happens are two different things.
Use your military card, I am sure the stress of reliving those moments in Iraqi or Afghanistan where you were getting shoot at, blown up, watching your friends die, while defending this country while these mfers were stuffing their fat faces with cheetoes watching Netflix greatly impacted your ability to sleep and thus study.
I bet your have some stories, or at least heard them right? Use them. Talk to teachers if needed to. You just need one yes.

Then, once you knew that, you had probably three to four days until the teachers had to finalize their grades.
They were the ones who would have saved your arse. Not the Dean.
