Our Easter Vigil was 3hrs 45mins. Did all 12 of the pre-1955 Prophesies and chanted the Litany of the Saints.

Its kind of brutal in a holy way but to me finishes off Lent with a bang. The whole mood changes when "Christ is Risen" is announced and roll into the actual Mass.

I've done 2.5 hour ones. But there were like 10 confirmations involved.

Easter Vigil is always longer. It is the High Holy Day after all

Baw when I was a youngin we were at Sunday School at 9 AM on Sunday morning, followed by the Worship service at 11. If you were lucky you got home in time to catch the second half of the football game. Then back at church at 6 for the Sunday night service. And prayer meeting on Wednesday night. Plus throw in choir practice, youth group, etc, somewhere in there.

This was my life growing up. My dad was a traditional Southern Baptist pastor and I was expected to be there for every one of these. Only exceptions were severe sickness or death/near death in the family.
As a grown up, we are still involved in church, but it is nothing like this, to where I hated going so much…..

And then probably went to fellowship for an hour or two with the congregation for coffee, donuts, and conversation in a beautiful church. I was raised Episcopalian, it's usually like going to a nice hotel after a service filled not with fire and brimstone, but goodwill and positivitiy.

Totally possible. He sounded kinda irked about it though. Not sure what they did after. Hope I wasn’t sounding critical posting that. Was not my intention at all. Just sharing his experience. Cheer bro!
