Just fought off a Possum

I grew up having to scare off racoons from the trash cans. Not a big deal, but as long as they has a way out- not cornered- they would book out of there.
Tonite, a possum was eating my cats' food on the back porch! Have never seen this in 18 years in this house.
Cats would not fight him. Took me five minutes with a broom to get him out of my porch. He was not the least bit intimidated by me, my yelling, or the broom I swatted at him. Once in the yard, he just sat there. Yelling don't work. Throwing stuff at him worked. Specifically, frozen potted plants and their containers. Did the job. He marched off in the snow.

My Aussie will tear up a possum or coin. Possums love dry cat food btw.

From personal experience, two things work really well and keep them away forever. A 32 inch Louisville Slugger and a 12 Guage Remington shotgun.
