My old man was some what if a mad scientist. My car looked like a dildo on wheels. Drilled a hole on the back filled with mercury. The mercury would shift to the front on the ramp. It would win by 5 feet every race. When we went to the next round they disqualified because it was liquid metal.

Not saying you are lying but having the weight shift forward would not make you car faster. It would make it slower and more stable.

Is mercury still not allowed? Antiquated bastards

You mean lead? Mercury is a liquid at normal room temps.

Also, OP, let's see a picture of the car.

Lastly, I'm not sure about the 3 wheels thing. The weight of the car is the weight of the car... so instead of 4 wheels, each with a little weight on them, you have 3 wheels with more weight on each of them. So it seems like it'd be a wash.

A wheel with 1 lb of weight on it will have less friction than a wheel with 1.33 lbs of weight on it.

Watch the mark rober video, it’s rotational energy. One less wheel to get spinning.

It's OK. Every year some engineer brags about this. You aren't the first.
