in TX its not usually an issue, but in LA many of them have been removed. pisses me off.

There seems to be some correlation between lack of auto latch on the pump and turtle- like speed of the pump also.

yes, very rare to find a pump in TX without one. even more rare to find a pump in LA with one

There's one left in the small town close to where I live. I like the old fashionedness of it, The guy comes out, fills my tank, washes my windhsield. Costs about ten cents extra per gallon over say Wal Mart or Casey's right in town, but with an 18 gallon tank that not even $2 more per fillup.

I have a small wrench that is perfect for this. Keep it in the side compartment of the back door near my gas tank.
But yeah its annoying when I have to resort to that.
