Worry about it in 13 years, that's what.

Congrats!!!! I hope mother and child are both doing well. I've raised four daughters and a son and the girls are truly special. You will sit through ballet and piano lessons, cheerleading and soccer practice the whole time missing your favorite teams on TV. And the funny thing is, you'll do it willingly and be glad you did.

my only advice is, don't be an arse hole, always treat your daughter and your wife with respect and love and care. Remember that many of people's problems come from things that happened/didn't happen in their childhood, so try to keep that in mind.

+1

And treat your wife the way you want a husband to treat your daughter one day. You are her primary example of how she will perceive how a husband should treat her one day. And same goes for your wife. Don't argue in front of the kid.

This feeling is amazing but my mind is drifting to 13 plus years from now when boys start coming into the picture. How do you deal with that?

Just make sure they all fear you. Any psychological warfare is fare game. And make sure SHE doesn't fear talking to you.

From day one to the end your influence diminishes a little each day. Make sure she has values, knows right from wrong and has a strong sense of self and you will be fine.

Congratulations man! My wife and I are expecting our first child together April 1st. I am getting increasingly nervous about the idea of becoming a father, but I honestly can't wait to be where you and your wife are right this moment.

What is her name?

As I hold m 8 month old daughter in my lap right now, my life has never been better. Get ready for sleepless nights and help your wife. It gets easier as time goes on and you are more comfortable. Your life has forever changed… for the better.

I agree with the poster that says to love your wife the way that you want your daughter to be treated when she is married. God is good!!!

Congrats!!!
