From Jazz Fest's POV, it was. They would have been a few million in the hole if forced to cancel later with artist deposits due the day after the announcement.
Their POV was shaped by NOLA administration actions over the past year, where they have repeatedly been over zealous on restrictions and cancellations.

What's with the random capitalization in this thread?
When he typed the "a" in "cases" he accidentally hit the caps lock. He noticed it after the "ES" and took it off, but he didn't edit.

We’re 5-10 years away from desensitizing the whole population to this nonsense,
And once people are supposedly desensitized, what does our government, which requires its citizens to actively participate in the capitalist economy to survive, actually gain?
Has anyone worked through that logic piece yet?

I spent yesterday, literally 10am to 5pm, in the Oschner ER in Monroe. They were slammed with COVID cases. So much that before noon all 3 hallways surrounding the exam rooms were filling up with patients in wheelchairs and beds as well as the waiting room lobby.
2 takeaways:
1) A lot of people are scared and putting stress on the ER and Hospital Systems in general.
2) Vaccine/vaccination was never mentioned in my presence the whole time in any way, shape, form, capacity.
I was there for pain management as my chronic pancreatitis was trying to go acute again. I have almost nothing negative to say about the entire Oschner system in N.La. except for janitorial work as my 1st ever ER visit had lunch trash on the floor including food particles and partial containers with subsequent visit to LSU Shreveport GI Clinic resulting in viral colon infection from the crowded waiting area. The Dr.'s, nurses, ancillary staff, have all been exceptional! I know as a former employee at an 800+ bed hospital for over a decade and then as a dept. manager for a chain of surgery centers, these folks are doing good work!
Walgreens pharmacy on the other hand is terrible! Always out of stock and forcing additional waiting after standing in line for a minimum 1 hour. Moving my business away from them permanently and advise everyone avoid them! After spending 7 hours in ER to manage pain they waited another hour and half to text, after the fact, that they are out of my pain med and will be days waiting, after defacing the prescription so I cannot take it elsewhere to be filled and then refusing to answer the phone or texts. I'm not spending my 3-5 year life expectancy waiting in their lines or for my meds ever again! F 'em!!!

The fourth wave is called Lambda and is already being seeded for spread via Braindead Biden dumping droves of illegal aliens all over the country.

I’m saying that the third shot will be required by this time next year. And the fourth after that. And so on.
Got that, just trying to determine if required means that to be fully vaccinated you need to receive additional shots (I think the expectation from the start was the vaccine would require annual or biennial booster) or if you mean we will be legally required to receive the vaccine plus boosters by this time next year.

How long do you think that will last?
I know getting a little thick in the conspiracy theory weeds here, but just pointing out.

That's exactly what I believe will happen. Who knows why, but this is one of the most obvious slippery slopes I've ever seen in my life.

Vaccine passports were a conspiracy theory like 6 months ago. Embrace your skepticisms. I know I have, as almost all of them so far have proved correct.

I took my 15th round of the flu vaccine last year. Guess I'm a sheep?
