The user could either hover their mouse over or hold their thumb down on the link without opening to quickly determine the url and if that’s a site that they wish to visit. Not trying to argue here, it just seems like such a silly thing to care about when the solution is so simple.

None of those links are blind ....you can inspect the destination of both links (and the OP's link for that matter) without clicking on the link....now if it were a truly masked link like shorturl or something then yes it would be blind.....in this case...not blind.
