assuming he was trying to get into the car scared Gasser enough that he feared for his life
This same guy?
quote:
The person says he saw a number on Gasser's car inviting people to call and report unsafe driving acts by the driver -- so he did -- but Gasser picked up the phone.
The person says Gasser followed him into a nearby gas station and immediately got violent -- hitting him twice in the head and once in the shoulder with a closed fist before saying, "I will get you."
Gasser then drove off.
Yeah seems more like he was a hot head, not scared.

Gasser was blocked in by cars on all sides as McKnight pulled up to his right at a red light, the sheriff said. McKnight got out of his vehicle and leaned down to Gasser’s passenger-side window, the sheriff said. The two men continued to argue until Gasser pulled a handgun from between his seat and the center console.
Gasser fired three times and hit McKnight three times, according to the Jefferson Parish coroner. Despite the desperate attempts of a sheriff’s deputy and a naval officer who happened to be nearby to save him, the former New York Jet was pronounced dead at the scene.

Baw, blocked in by 4 cars doesn't mean blocked in by McKnight
Blocked in by McKnight means he pulled his car in front of gassers making it impossible to leave. Mcknight pulled up beside him.

There aint a shot in hell the defense will go with the "fear for his life" plea and allow this to come into court

there was a car in front, to the left and behind him....he was boxed in...he couldnt go anywhere.
The turning lane to the left goes to only a closed gas station that was a car wash that never got any business. That turning lane is always open.

JM was not in a driving lane
It looks like Mcknight was in the right lane, with Gasser being in the left

Here's the intersection. Mcknight pulled up on the right side past the turn lane on to Holmes.
