The USFL sued the NFL over some type of anti monoploy violation.

One of Trump's many public failures.
But it was $3.72 or something. The one dollar award was tripled because it was an antitrust suit and there was interest the NFL owed when they cut the check, which still resides here in Memphis at Steve Ehrhart's office. He said he will hand it over to Canton when he dies. NFL still owed the USFL and Trump millions in attorney fees though.

Trump really f'd up the USFL by pushing for a move to the fall and eventual merger.

Not denying that the USFL was a debacle but I like how people say this when by most standards, Trump has been one of the most successful people in the last two generations.
He turned a couple hundred million into several billion, launched a global real estate company with properties all over the world, own a New York City tourist spot, developed one of the most famous reality shows ever in the apprentice and won the fricking White House after winning states no republican has won in a generation.
