Yep. Section 8 is a huge part of why Tigerland went downhill in the first place. But, notice it isn't even mentioned in NOLA.com or TheAdvocate.com.

Read between the lines. He all but says it.

but low-income individuals and families now occupy most of the clearly aging units.

Alarming, however, is the rapid rise of crime in this iconic area. Let's not necessarily make a direct correlation between the crime rate and changing demographics, but something hideous is happening in Tigerland

Difference is for every decent BR bar or two there is, you have to drive 10 minutes atleast to find another one

A good bar scene has stretches of bars that are decent and diverse. And are located within walking distance of the college

I wasn't that impressed with Gainesville. Plus, the number of rules they magically come up with for opposing fans is ridiculous. The women are the only positive.

Outside of the SEC, I'd put Penn State, UNC & TCU's bar scene up there.

He knew exactly what he was doing. That sentence could have easily been left out and the article would largely be the same. He was taking your mind there but then washing his hands.

Bar hopping up to the stadium for the Bama game, strictly from walking we went to a couple regular college bars, an Irish pub, an actual cocktail bar (with bartenders that knew their shite), real restraunts, and the grounds for tailgating. All without getting into a car or a cab. And none of the areas were frickin section 8 bullshite

Time to demolish some apartment complexes.

If only they weren't owned by people in Nebraska, Wisconsin, and California. Who have never seen the buildings.............ever.

You could find out who these people are and run a smear campaign forcing them to sell. I don't have the $$ or time, but would be glad to help.

Gainesville is horrible. Florida fans are walking diarrhea & the worst in the SEC. Probably in the nation.

But yeah, the women are the only positive. You see an absurd amount of vaginas.

The article itself said the bars are popular as ever. Nothing will change because they're still making a lot of money.

Yep, as long as underage kids can still drink there they will keep going.

I lived in Tigerland from 1980 - 1983 and it was a good neighborhood back then. We used to walk to those bars.

this is all pretty recent. Tigerland was still mostly fine as recently as 06 or 07.
