The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of posing as a ride-share driver, inappropriately touching a woman who got into his vehicle and masturbating in front of her. A 42-year-old woman ordered a ride through an unidentified service about 9 a.m. Wednesday (July 17) in Metairie, said Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the department. She told investigators as man pulled up a short time later driving late-model Nissan Sentra or Versa. The man was not registered with any ride-sharing service, according to Rivarde. But he was convincing enough for the woman, who was not familiar with ride-share protocols, including verifying the driver’s identity and vehicle. At his urging, the woman got into the car, the Sheriff's Office said.
