The police thanked him and the group he was with for being there because they were spread so thin.

This has escalated the problem, because the kid was a dumbass.

The kid is attacked, retreats the entire time trying to deescalate the situation, gets kicked, gets hit with a skateboard, and has a gun drawn on him.....and you blame the kid.

I've seen a bunch of twitter posts in which people seriously think *all three* of the guys Kyle shot were black.

One of the other crazy parts of this story is that the shooter was walking directly to the police. If the crowd has simply walked behind him, they could have easily told the police he was the shooter.

Instead they attacked him.

There's a real concern with blaming the victim.

Agreed.

The 17 year old being chased by an angry mob shouldn't be blamed for anything.

I don't know the whole story. I've seen posts that he crossed state lines with his rifle. You refuted it. I'm wondering what the whole story is. Why was he there? What happened? I don't even know the video you're talking about. I've been focused on the hurricane this week, so I don't know the story

He lives 35 minutes from where the shooting took place, across a state line. Check the distance from Antioch, Illinois to Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Police thanking a self-appointed vigilante, is an issue in itself. But I don't think that is what actually happened. Individuals on the police force gave thanks to the group...I haven't seen any footage of anyone from the police saying, "thanks for shooting that guy...we really aren't able to handle things here without you" to the individual shooter.

The kid traveled over half an hour across state lines with a rifle to "play police" and ended up killing someone. Yes...I blame him for doing that. He was looking to shoot someone, and that's what he did. He was also breaking the law by not meeting the requirements for Open Carry in Wisconsin. You have to be 21 to have a Firearm Owners ID Card in that state.

The other guys were in the wrong for being there and fighting, too. Fortunately for the kid...they brought a skateboard to a gun fight. Just because the protesters were wrong...doesn't make the kid's actions right.

No. Actually, you didn't. The two who died lived in Kenosha County. The shooter lived in Illinois.

I have voted for a Libertarian in one election...Otherwise, I consistently vote for fiscally conservative representatives. Real Republicans have been pushed aside by RINOs.

He works in Kenosha. Crossing a state line is completely irrelevant. Again, you're making it sound like he traveled across the country.

No where did I say anything about police saying thanks for him shooting someone. Why the need to make up shite that I didn't even say?

quote:

Again, what's with the constant beating of the "crossed state lines" drum? He drove from his home to where he worked to help out other people defend their business. Or, you know, you can hear it from his own mouth:

Kyle Interview

quote:

He was looking to shoot someone

Oh frick off with this bullshite. This tells me all I need to know about you. You don't give a shite about what really happened, you already have your narrative in your head and nothing is going to change it.

quote:

You can open carry, purchase, and own a rifle at 18 in Wisconsin. No permit of any type required. Try getting your facts straight before trying to play gotcha.
