Meh…I have lived in plenty of towns and cities and you can cherry pick certain parts of any town to portray it in any light you want. I have lived in a lot worse towns than Alexandria

We definitely have our issues. One of the main problems is we have a city council run by a bunch of f’ing retards.

Several other neighborhoods he could’ve gone into that would’ve shown more upscale housing.

Im sure that's true but let's not sugarcoat it, Alexandria and CENLA in general is in serious decline. Coping isn't going to help improve things.

Really sad…I had relatives from the area and Alexandria used to be a nice place to visit and raise a family.
What happened ?

It’s still a great place to raise a family, especially if you love the outdoors. Crime is concentrated in certain areas that you never have to go to. Not much else to do besides hunt and fish tho. If you live on the west side you can send your kids to public schools, Nachman to Brame to ASH, and avoid all the private school tuition.

I would disagree…it hasn’t changed much since I grew up there in the 80
‘S. Pretty much like every other town of that size that I have lived in.

I will say that the folks from Alexandria are more vocally critical of their own town than most.

I detoured from 49 down MacArthur drive October of 2021 and it looked like little Mogadishu. Zero pride in that city today, is the burned out motel still catching on fire? Ellick needs a good cleansing that some Law and Order folks should take on.
Y’all had a chance to hep ya seff when Catherine ran for mayor but the Bible tigers would never elect a lesbian.

Is there any city in Louisiana that would elect a queer mayor? Not even New Orleans.

Jacques does a decent job, but the council fights him at every turn.

Its in no worse “decline” than any part of the state. Ellick has its rough parts but it’s very easy to avoid them.

This is the YT channel of a couple who go all over the country exploring.

I quit watching them. They went across the border into Nuevo Laredo and just talked about what they saw with little video. Said there were armed masked men. They indicated they felt it would be beyond bad judgement to video them. Probably a good move. But that was the last one I watched. Stupid.

They drive back-and-forth around the same bad parts of an area from different directions to make it appear that the entire town is bad. I’m not a fan.

. I would have to disagree with you disagreeing.

I used to go there frequently when I lived in Louisiana. Since the 2000's, there's definitely a lot less commercial activity than there used to be. There's also a verifiable population and economic decline if you want to look it up.

Same for me. But to be clear, I’m from the good side of the river.
