I'm not that type, but his step son is going to run into a ton of assholes that are in the Big 4. It's information I'm trying to convey to not get him flagged as someone that is a quality issue. Big 4 begs for you to identify yourself as a problem in one area or another, and once the narrative about someone gets around, especially at the junior level, you are up the creek without a paddle.

I never did anything like that, it's faster for me to fix it, than it is to send a 5 para email. It's simply a matter of how much I can trust you. If the fonts are messed up, you probably didn't update the table of contents. Or, you didn't delete slide masters that have another client name on them. The list goes on.

Here's what you're not considering (from my perspective, at least.) We're trying to sell a multi-million dollar engagement, for instance, to implement and secure a state health insurance exchange. Am I going to trust a company that can't format documents properly? Do you want to be the bro that sends a proposal to UPS via Fedex? Another example, and this should be mind blowing, is another team that delivered, and presented a PPTX on a 100M+ outsourcing agreement to a government agency where a single bulleted list switched between numbers and bullets. In the same list (this wasn't Big 4, and they refused to see why it was a problem.)

Whenever staff frick up, I presume it's because I didn't train them well enough, my instructions weren't clear enough, and I take the task to fix my issue in communication so that it doesn't happen again. That's rare.

When is the karma for your schadenfreude going to circle back to you? The most insulting thing to do to someone you intensely dislike to stop caring about them altogether. I hope your drink of choice tonight goes down well.

The karma for me was that I got a 35% total comp increase, 40% WFH, and a boss that is an extremely pleasing person to work with. Karma is about working to an equilibrium which is what happened for my boss and I. Professionally speaking, I went from the very most toxic work environment I've been in (boss was former Investment Banker and PE I believe) to a job that is the very best work environment I've been in. The first few weeks at my new job, the whole time I was like "This is way too good to be true. When am I going to get yelled at?: When am I going to be considered a bad employee when I make 1 error on an excel cell when there are 50 sheets in the excel, 50 columns and 100 rows, that is a total of 50*50*100, 250,000 cells. So getting 249,996 out of 249,997 isn't good enough. When my boss makes mistakes all the time. Like a crap acquisition where we bought at an extremely high price and the commodity prices dropped 60% 3 months later.

You see making that 1 cell error or 1 letter typo in a 50 page document has virtually 0 bad effects. The terrible acquisition he reccomended is something that is tanking the company losing tens or hundreds of millions. Yet he would never yell at himself. Again, just makes me feel like justice was served on a golden platter.

Tbh everyone else that worked there hated him. He's the kind of person that isn't going to have 1 person show up on his death bed. His self-awareness of how he comes across to others is about as low as one can get.

That's all in the past now. I just don't get how a human can be that miserable and not see how their own thoughts, behaviors, actions are causing it and continue to do it.
