Job posts seeking “sports minded” individuals

Has anyone else noticed how common these job posts are? It will be an entry level sales job with a salary of 50K plus “seeking sports minded individuals.”
The actual job has nothing to do with sports. It will be a sales job based almost entirely on commission doing something like selling knives door to door or telemarketing for a landscaping company.
Are there recent graduates with their sports administration or liberal arts degree dumb enough to fall for the trap when “sports minded” just means competitive?

If you're every questioning if people are dumb enough to fall for something like this, the answer is always yes, yes they are.

The real question is why are you looking at these jobs?

I am assuming it is a codeword for "in shape".

I saw a sales job once that said it was looking for people with a Limp Bizkit attitude. The job was selling air filters.

I've never understood why people get so bent out of shape over other people's degrees or the degree they chose.

Because the government finances it. It's pretty simple

I don’t actively seek them, they pay job sites premium fees to be among the first jobs shown regardless of searches. These suckers think they will be selling tickets to NBA games or something probably.

I’ve got no problem with those degrees. I’m annoyed because I think people with relatively ambiguous degrees are being targeted by manipulative companies using their love of sports to entice them to apply to shitty jobs they would otherwise have no interest in.
I graduated with a mass communication Bachelor’s. I know relatively useless degrees.

When I first got into management in the late 90's, early 00's, I read a study that folks that participated in sports performed better in sales roles. It stems from being competitive, team focused, open to criticism, performing under pressure, etc.
