Jim Cantore is a wuss

Confirmed! He whined on air about people stealing his thunder while he jumped up and down in puddles, JP was doing the real work. I remember when we thought Cantore was crazy for his reports but storm chasers have made his work moot.

I think they're just pissed because they didn't correctly predict where the eye would pass and people like Jeff can float around to get the best action. The old guard doesn't like change and competition.

Although what Jeff did attracted my attention a lot more than the Weather guys did, what he did was dangerous. He could have died.
But he's not. He posted some vids on his twitter of the damage. Pretty interesting to see. BLUE SHED MOTHER frickER!

All the Weather Channel guys are hamming it up and exaggerating. They keep going to Seidel at that Holiday Inn Express where he's standing in the parking area under the raised hotel that provides a tunneling effect for the wind and leaning into it like he's going to get blown away. Such bullshite.

Oh, of course, but standing in a puddle talking about the same old shite for 6 hours doesn't really cut it anymore.

I like how try showed some flimsy cardboard signs on the ground and pointed to it like it got blown in from Asia.
Omgz look at the piece of galvanized metal in this bush (as he points to it)
Weather channel is a joke

I agree. And he obviously knows what he's doing since he's still kicking it.
ETA: Also I think Jim Cantore is getting older. He may not want to do this shite anymore.

The only wind damage I've seen is sheet metal buildings, a strip mall area that had a cloth-like roof and some camp-like homes right on the water.

I always laugh at how they always act like they have to hold on to something to keep from getting blown down when they talk! Always are careful to wear a lot of loose clothing to flop in the wind, too!

Weather channel is all about sensationalism. They cum when they know a storm is coming because their ratings spike.

The damage certainly seems mild relative to what I expected last night from a cat 4

They likely think they don't have to do anything crazier than standing in high winds because they're the top dogs. Then again, it could be that the corporate lawyers are calling the shots too.

That weather channel sat dish on the truck would have lasted less than a minute in Rockport. Then the Jim C show is off the air.

That might also be a factor. If these guys ever get caught in a bad situation, some poor cop or fire fighter is going to have to go out in the mess and rescue them. Lawyers might advise against venturing too far out into the mess.

Yeah, it's got me thinking they overplayed it. Cat 4 should have widespread destruction, not sheet metal and trailers tossed about. Maybe the wind field of Cat 4 was only a mile or so wide, or despite the pressures, the winds didn't match. The fastest gust I saw reported was 132, but Cat 4 means a sustained wind of 130 and higher, not just a gust.

There also might be some issues with streaming that kind of stuff on cable tv.

I'm not saying I'm disappointed, but I was surprised by what I saw too. All I heard was how terrible this storm was going to be, it was going to be the worst storm since Katrina, etc. Either they played this storm up or they really didn't know what was going on.

Too much adult content?

It's still a CAT 1 at least, this storm isn't over yet.
