There's absolutely no "reason" to molest a child. None. Ever.

His dad molested him, he thought it was a normal thing to do. kinda similar to a child seeing his dad beat his mom , then when he grows he thinks it's normal to beat wife

It's not genetics, but it pretty much all but confirms that he was molested too.
When proven guilty, he needs to be out away for good. He really never had a chance.

Proves it is not genetics but a learned behavior. Of course there are certain people who would dispute that.
