Do you guys remember this case, or were any of you living in Houston during it? I read the book Pure Murder detailing the case just a couple of weeks ago, and usually this stuff is jarring, but this case got to me.

Hadn’t heard of it but just read the wiki and it’s disturbing. Also, looks like it happened about 2 blocks from my house.

Dang, that was a tough read. Glad Texas said FU to everyone.

Man, that was hard to read. Such a brutal, senseless killing. And reading what one of the girl's father said about the killer getting lethal injection: "I wish to God that my daughter could have died that easily. Put a needle in her arm and just go to sleep. I wish to hell he could have died the way she died."
Couldn't agree more. I think all death penalties should be carried out by the same means that was used on the victim.

That would require someone willing to do that.

I don’t remember this at all, and I was old enough (13/14) to remember it. But reading that was rough.

Absolutely this though. Good on Texas for that. And frick the eligibility of parole for the ones still alive. I hope they never get released. Parole for a crime like that is a fricking shame.

A brutal crime and well deserved punishment for all of them. It would have been awesome for dad and four friends to get locked in a room with each guy

I’m pretty sure her father would volunteer.

Even the ones eligible for parole in 5 years (2029)?

No, but there is something that ruins you inside to actually conduct the act yourself.

Reading up on this case, it was Ted Cruz and Rick Perry that led the charge.

They had the full support of the girls’ families as well. Justice was served because of politicians, families, and the general public standing their ground and refusing to settle or backing down.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I worked not far from there. That murder shocked Houston. We were not free of crime by any ranking, but that was so out of the ordinary that everyone was appalled. Glad most of them died - hope they all got raped in prison before they went.

Beating and choking to death the men that raped and murdered your daughter?

I’m positive I’d sleep fine at night.

Yeah I’m just a couple blocks from TC Jester park. I ride through it to get to the white oak trail to run or ride my bike.

Seeing the footage of Jennifer’s dad arrive at the crime scene was too much for me. Thank God the police stopped him before heading back to the woods.
