Exactly. IF this is because of their whiney arse teachers, they need to extend their school year into mid June.

It will utlimately get pushed back to after Labor Day. There is also talk of 100% virtual or do a block schedule of virtual a few days a week, home a few days a week.

Online instruction will be better for the kids that actually want to learn. Normally, most of the class-time is wasted with the teacher trying to get unruly students to stop being shitheads.

They've had 3+ months to figure it out. How could they not have contingency plans laid out?

Just wait until they start closing schools down, they will do that on a moment's notice that make 2 days look like an eternity.

If we have learned anything, it's that this stuff changes very quickly. No one has any real contingency plans left at this point considering we have blown past Plan A, B, C and are about on Plan Q at this point.

Well, you can't teach without teachers.

The decision to delay was made after school district officials learned they would have access to rapid coronavirus testing through Ochsner for the Aug. 26 date, schools Superintendent James Gray said. Tests will be available for symptomatic employees, he said.

Also, the online learning stuff isn't ready yet, so by pushing back two weeks, it will be, and the online learning can be on same pace as in-person learning.
