I'm from his area. I'll never forget the radio debate he had with Boustany re. Obamacare back in 2012. "Obamacare is bad, cher". Sadly, that accent plus pandering to bible thumpers may get him the governor's mansion in 2019. I'm hoping Garrett Graves runs.

I know why and how he beat Buddy. You just don't want to admit that.

I know people who ran Jeff's campaign. They beat Buddy because Buddy put literally ZERO effort into being re-elected. It was almost impressive. There were Landry signs and ads from Shreveport to NOLA, barely a peep from Caldwell.

Uh yes he does.

Whoever the republican candidate will be is going to be running against a liberal tax and spend governor that will be forced to defend a shitty record in a red state that he said would never happen after he campaigned on being a conservative blue dog democrat that wouldn't raise taxes and spending too much and completely dress down the largest private employer with baseless and incessant lawsuits.

Oh and come hell or high water, the Louisiana GOP and republicans in general will do everything they can to make sure the same trench warfare that we saw with Vitter, Angelle and Dardenne never ever happens again even if it takes deals made in smoke filled back rooms.

2019 is all about jobs, taxes, getting the base out and making sure JBE can't get enough of the same republicans who elected him in 2015 and that shouldn't be too hard to do considering a moron like Pinky Nungessor won with the same margin JBE did.

His election night meltdown says otherwise.

I don't think he ever expected to have real challengers. He's an idiot.

It won't be just the state party that makes sure we avoid the same party unity killing trench warfare.

Conservatives and the candidates will make sure themselves it does not happen again. Nobody wants to end up like Dardenne and Angelle by working for a liberal or getting your shite pushed in by a novice reality star cop like Higgins.

Oh and btw, Roger Villere has a lot of blame for not doing enough to mend the fences between Jindal and Vitter. That nasty feud spurred on Angelle's run and possibly Dardenne's as well and the rest is history.

LAGOP took a step in the right direction getting rid of Jason Dore but Villere has got to go. But him and Landry are thick as thieves

This is the problem right here

Higgins has no business being anywhere near the U.S House of Representatives, yet beat out a qualified field of businessman, pols, military officers, etc. Voters here are dumb as shite.

I remember seeing a lot more buddy ad spots late in the game closer to election day in the first round. He couldn't do enough in the runoff to beat him.

By the time buddy figured out that Jeff was a legit threat, it was too late.

There's a vacuum of power in swla if you ask me. Boustany kept a lot of the old blue dog Democrat types along that I 10 corridor between Lafayette and Lake Charles. They loved him in Lake Charles too. He also had a Chris John connection too which helped. I wonder if the previous Lafayette mayor might run. But I want to say his daughter worked for Vitter and didn't want to get involved

Uh huh.

And what does that say about Angelle if he's capable of losing to him?

Maybe a year later people reflected on his character assassination bullshite in the Governors race that put a liberal in the Governors Mansion and punished him for it? Maybe his response to the sinkhole in Assumption? Or just looking pathetic running for everything?

Oh btw, I love how you say something like this while being one of the original Trumpkins on the poliboard as Trump was running against Governors, Senators, doctors, businessmen in the primary.

Oh and btw, Higgins has been doing a decent job of behaving in congress, staying out of trouble and voting the right way Acadiana wants him too.

He keeps it up, he will have no problem with reelection.

Never said you were.

Trump was basically a more polished, smoother, billionaire version of Higgins and you were one of his original supporters on the poliboard.

Just funny irony.
