If you don't mind me asking, how much did the swap set you back? Have heard 8-10k is what is expected.

Also, while Utah has easy trails, most of moab is "crazy rock climbing trails" from what I saw. At least things that could easily damage a stock rig.

I give you BFE. Moab is not really a place you want to run a stock rig. Especially if you aren't familiar with the area. You can get yourself in places where there is no turning back.

Engine went kaput. Its a very long story, lets just say they didn't switch engines just because of power. I'm 4.88 right now though.

Fighting tigers, all said and done, I was around twenty, I believe. Maybe more, there was a point I stoped keeping track.

old rigs: orange CJ7 is sold but the blue CJ8 is my own personal albatross that I'm probably around 30k into and don't have time to finish.

I have an 08 Wrangler Sahara for sale. Shameless plug. Only 17,500 miles. Manual transmission, 4 wheel drive, premium sound system, power locks and windows and upgraded tires.

Begging to be customized.

OP if you buy used dont buy older than a 2012

From another perspective, if you buy, don't buy newer than 1970. When Jeeps were still Jeeps.

Hardtop is pointless unless you live in Wisconsin.

Road trips are loud, bumpy, etc.

That said, I have fun driving my Jeep every day.
It just comes down to "am I a Jeep person or not?"
