Jeep canceling the full sized Wagoneer SUV

This was a model that had a HEMI V8 engine that was discontinued a couple of years ago, and consumers weren’t excited about the turbocharged 3 liter engine that replaced it.

Stellantis proving that they don’t understand the American market very well.

Michael Bettenhausen, chairman of the Stellantis National Dealer Council, confirmed the news to industry publication Automotive News.

Jeep attempted to move into the luxury market over the past decade, introducing its first six-figure models and trimming smaller, less expensive models from the list.

But America proved reluctant to buy a six-figure Jeep. Then-CEO Antonio Filosa said late last year that Jeep would work to lower prices and simplify its portfolio. Filosa has since taken over as CEO of Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, giving him even more influence over brand strategy.
