We can do totals over the whole state if you like. There are approximately 33k cases where the person is black. 25k for white. In a state that is 62% white and 33% black. As far as which parishes I chose, I picked the largest ones at the top of the list since the margin for error is lowest for those. It was a simple choice of more data.

I figured that.
I wish I was a reporter. I would roast him about riots/protests, and asking about data proving that having bars open increase Covid cases, etc. Instead these reporters are such fricking pussies that they give JBE the crook lay up questions that won't make him look bad. It's frickin disgusting.

I missed the press conference but just to clarify - surely they aren’t actually including these in the COVID hospitalization numbers that are released daily?
Reading this thread, it sounds more like they are just speaking generally saying the uptick in non-COVID hospitalizations is related to COVID because of deferred treatment, elective surgeries, whatever. That’s a lot different than saying they are including these in the COVID hospitalization numbers, which feels like a stretch even for JBE.
I will say that they aren’t lying about hospitals filling up, at least in the BR area. I have a relative who is waiting to be transferred to a BR hospital now (not for COVID) and both BRG and OLOL are saying they can’t take the transfer. Whether it makes more sense to blame this on COVID or the previous response by the government/hospitals is another conversation.
