This is what I don't get I have heard this exact same story through work and friends. But most posters act like its BS just because JBE said it would happen.

I think most people feel like if they can go to Walmart and work, why can’t they go to a family function. It’s going to spread any time people are in close vicinity to each other, so why focus on family gatherings?

I feel like if he isn’t willing to shutdown something as nonessential as a CASINO, then he’s FOS

Because when you’re shopping you’re not in close proximity with people without masks on for extended periods of time. But when you hang out with friends/family for hours at tables or couches or standing next to each other without masks on its more likely to transmit.
I think most tracing goes back to private events. That said I’m going to continue hanging out with my friends and family.

At most family gatherings no one wears a mask and they are in very close contact for usually a couple of hours. In Walmart, everyone has a mask and you likely aren't in close contact with anyone longer than a couple of minutes. I still don't think he should be shaming people who had family gatherings. Most people knew there may be a risk but were ok with it anyway and that is what is. People aren't going to stop seeing family.

we are worse off now than we ever were

lost hundreds of vaccine doses

it's going to get worse

stop gathering at home

So the same ineffective and kneejerk statements that he's been making for the past 10 months. Great.

Show me the data that says 15 people in a home with no mask will have a worse effect than a thousand in and out all day long WITH a mask at a casino. Then factor in each ones importance to society.
And there’s many things that fall into the casino category. Not just a single place

Shouldn’t speak in absolutes.

I have not seen 100% cooperation with mask ever. Walmart employees are some of the biggest offenders btw
