Went when it was jazz land when I was 17/18. Hot AF and workers all sucked. Rides were not bad though.

It could have been repaired and reopened, but I suspect it was already struggling so probably easier to just take the insurance money and leave it abandoned. I just read that the batman roller coaster was disassembled and moved to Six Flags Fiesta and is now rebranded as "Goliath."

My cousin, his fiancee, and I bought season passes and used them a good bit. It was pretty fun for what it was, and the plan had always been to grow it slowly over several years. It was a drive to get there, but it was similar to Lake Forest Plaza mall and Toys R Us in the East a decade before that.
When the Greek group owned it before Six Flags, there were three coasters (Mega Zeph, Wild Maus, Caterpilar for small kids), the splash ride (the bridge part was too close to the splash down so you couldn't stand on it), the "inside" water gun ride, the air conditioned video show, the two drop towers, the big swing drop over the water, and the board walk games and lake water show.
Six Flags added the Joker coaster, a slow water log ride, some other small kid stuff, and some preliminary theme work and shade. There were supposedly plans for at least two more big coasters, more shading and themeing, and to rebuild the bridge on the splash ride further away from the splash down point.
Then Katrina happened.
