I completely disagreed with her politics but at least she ran the DOJ with some semblance of justice and not strictly as a political machine like our current AG. The fact that she consistently took direct responsibility for decisions and spoke bluntly made her an exception in DC.
For those traits alone, she had my respect. RIP.

Totally false. There was no need to go up to their building and pump it full of flammable gas with kids inside and then light it on fire. Nothing Koresh did warranted that. They could have and should have just waited them out. Or, hey, just leave them alone in the first place.

Take that tinfoil hat BS to the Poli Board. CS gas isn't flammable and they didn't "light it on fire". If they had done that, don't you think someone would have talked in the last 20 years? Koresh and his people lit the place once they figured the Feds were coming in. They were a dooms day cult. It's what folks like that do.

The Elian Gonzales thing was a fiasco and Reno did the right thing even though it was wildly unpopular and the large Cuban Miami voting bloc fought her on it. The kid was being held by estranged family members while the father wanted him back. We would have invaded Cuba to get an American kid back in the same situation.
I was proud of my government that day for doing the right thing. Hasn't happened a lot t since then.

The worst part of the whole story is Koresh would go to town by himself and could easily have been picked up at any time. Instead, they chose to storm the place which led to a firefight.
