Yeah, those boys have been really taking care of all that stuff over there for the last 30 years

Some truth to that.

The war on terror is unwinnable. All we're doing is smearing it around so it manifests in different places with different players.

This has very little to do with conspiracy theories (Even though it's been proved time and time again that the US gov't has tried to influence the focus of the American public). I was speaking more towards the destabilization of places like Iraq and Libya. The USA carries the majority of the blame for the current state of those countries.

I think that those countries brought it on themselves.

The US will always be a target. We can't please everyone. I don't know how we could have avoided conflict in the middle east...do you?

True...but what are our options? Ignore it? No retaliation?

I think in the beginning the USA and more specifically the CIA had the right frame of mind during the War on Terror. Then for some reason the focus shifted to Iraq and trying to come up with some proof that they had something to do with 9/11. Think back to the time that Colin Powell went in front of congress and made up that ridiculous story about WMD's and mobile weapon trailers.

Fast forward to present day and we are currently have a discuss about declassifying 28 documents that have been censored because it would hurt our relationship with Saudi Arabia.

Personally I don't think those countries "brought it on themselves". It's a region of the world that we frankly are never going to understand and destabilizing Iraq was simply the wrong move (Especially removing their military force).

Do it like we used to do it, find someone to put in power that can crush these movements. When you destabilize an area, this is the kind of stuff that pops up.

Radical Islam is something that became popular among young people over there because they were pissed at us. It's a war with Western Values popping up in destabilized areas.

I'm a pretty normal guy. I do one weird thing. I go to the woman's bathroom to do number two. I've been caught several times and I have paid dearly.

Kuwait happened prior to all this

I would love to be less involved in policing the world but lets face it we defend places that we have interests in. Doesn't make it right but I can understand why...like I said earlier we can't make everyone happy. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

History shows there will always be fighting and unrest over there. That would be the case regardless of what we have done in the last 30 years. We aided the aphghans against Russia and we see how that went.

If countries harboring terrorist won't stop them who should?

Probably, we used to have people in place to keep them in line. We've destabilized the whole region now.
