It's called a "Flood Emergency" per WAPT. Numerous streets are suggested to evacuate.

Barnett Reservoir continues to hold water but reaching 'dangerous' levels
Clarion Ledger

City declares a state of emergency

JA helping move furniture.

Sand bags are now available (just reporting to show the severity)

Madison is nice and cozy watching this unfold.

Son was supposed to play two soccer games there Sunday...one was canceled and one was moved just south to Wesson.

If they stay, they’ll have to swim out.

They’ve been warned.

They haven't released the water yet (the rez). I wish they would release it now rather than at dark.

the REZ will be brought up to 299 (it's 297ish now), at 300 the emergency spillway activates and the would mean big trouble for those south of the spillway.

The place needs a good washing. That place is filthy. I used to live there and hated it

Get some federal funds only to have them disappear the next day.

Thought it was still open until a river stage of 38' was 35.5' at lunch. Then they will close until it reaches 299' in Rez and open back up to release incoming from the Pearl so not to over-top the spillway. At lunch it was releasing 65,000 cfs or just shy of 500,000 gallons per second.

Maybe McGowan's "One Lake" proposal will get some traction and in 30 years there might be some nice development.
