There is an outdoor lot for long term parking that has a parking attendant

Yes. There is a parking lot with an attendant. If you still feel unsafe, you could catch he train at the meridian, MS station because it's in a lot better area than downtown Jackson, or you could park your vehicle in the parking garage of baptist hospital on state street(free parking) and catch an über, taxi, or TD poster to the train station. Depending on what day/time, I could possibly give you a lift there.

If you are talking about Jackson, Michigan's Amtrak station, you can leave the keys in vehicle if you park it around the station and it will be there when you return.

If you are foolishly toying with the idea of doing anything involving the Amtrak station in Jackson, Mississippi, better check your life insurance first, then your auto insurance.

tl/dr: Avoid all things Jackson, MS

Nothing in that part of Jackson is secure. Jackson has Uber now. Leave your car at home and take Uber.

How are you going to catch the City of New Orleans in Meridian?

You're not.

You can catch the SB Crescent to NOLA and then connect with the NB City of New Orleans and a mere 21 hours and a $400 fare later you are in Jackson!

America is in to Training!

This is like trying to get from Atlanta to Raleigh. To do it you have to arrive in Charlotte at 1:00am and then deboard and wait 6 hours to get onto a different train. The 6 hour delay is how long the whole drive is, so wtf is the point.

The OP never mentioned where he was leaving from or headed to. If he's concerned with Jackson parking, then obviously he's driving to Jackson.
