I don't think I've said more than "Thanks" to a police officer in over 15 years.

And that's when they let me cross the street while directing traffic.

A lot of people are giving the OP a hard time, but it is a fact that many police officers are bullies. Many of them won’t hesitate to throw some bs charge on you, and if you don’t have the money for appropriate representation, you are pretty much screwed.

I didn’t say ALL cops are bullies. The large majority of them are regular people who just want to take of their families and do some good in the world. They also serve a necessary function, and society would break down without them.

With that said, quite a few of them are belligerent for no reason. If you’ve never come across a cop like this, congratulations.

The hours are long, the pay is shite, the work is dangerous, and you literally deal with the dregs of society.

Can't imagine why more intelligent people don't partake.
