I’ve been busy with work, but I’m just catching up on threads. How you feeling, bud? Did your results comeback?

Korea and China have been giving severe patients chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, which are antiviral malaria drugs, with good results with seemingly no side effects. Again not a wonder drug, but is promising.

I know of at least one patient in Louisiana receiving Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) with azithromycin so it is definitely happening in the US.

Also, saying that malaria drugs have no side effects is a little misleading. They won't kill you but they aren't fun.

Has anyone clarified if this can be transmitted through posting?

Avoid Aggies and you won't catch anything.

Did your fever come and go? I ask because I had bad fever over the weekend, developed a terrible cough, body aches, and the fever went away. I woke up this morning with fever again. Yesterday I did find myself beginning to get slightly winded after moving around and my chest sorts burns (I think that’s from all the coughing though).

Those were my exact symptoms. The fever was a cyclical thing. I think the highest mine got was 101. I didn't get tested because I believed it was too soon for it to be a possibility but I'm starting to be convinced I had it.

In all seriousness. I think I had it a month ago. The only reason I feel it was different from typical stuff was my lungs hurt, and the fever that would come and go. Like I felt off, but waves of malaise would hit me.

The doctors and researchers will eventually get around to launching serologic testing. That is the only thing that will tell them/us how many people in the population have, in fact, had it and gotten over it.
Those tests are a ways off, considering we are struggling with the initial testing and time and resources just aren't there right now. China may be doing some serology now, but most don't expect them to release any useful numbers. And China has publicly stated they won't be doing any serologic testing, but that is hard to believe.
