I'm from humidity and live in Big D. I still prefer 90 degrees and 80% humidity rather than 104 and 20%. The high heat is worse to me than humidity.

Poster is confused with Austin and hill country area that is dry heat. DFW tends to have more humidity than Austin/hill country areas.

I tolerate 25 better than 95. Not a big land whale either.

"Why do you keep bumping old threads?"

Because I got nothing better to do because I'm stuck in northern alabama. So why do you keep commenting on me commenting on old threads?

My dad said he couldn't sleep at night when they first got ac. He was so used to hearing the attic fan. Said the ac was way too quiet for him.

My mom said when my grandmother proposed getting an ac for the house, my grandpa said "what the hell do we need that for?"

My grandmother lived just north of Miami. She installed one small window unit in the dining room of her house. It would not cool the whole house and she never wanted to turn it on. She did have a whole house window fan that was like a mini hurricane, shade trees on both the east and west sides of the house, and the house was built before AC, so it was constructed to catch the breeze from the Atlantic, which was about a mile away. I don't remember it ever being too hot in there, though we did use oscillating fans. Now, if it dropped much below 70, she was quick to turn on the tiny space heater and pull her chair up in front of it.
