That was a different era then though. Different fan attitudes, different storytelling, different just about everything.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying it absolutely does change the atmosphere. The lighting doesn't have the impact it does in a closed arena and that contributes heavily to building the vibe in the arena or stadium.
I'm probably biased because I work for a company whose product is live event AVL.
