Working late tonight. Finished at 11:50 ET. Was looking for somewhere to get a shitty greasy burger to get some kind of food in me.

Literally the only fast food restaurant open late within 15 miles of me is a Krystal in the hood. Before COVID there used to be a ton of McDonalds and Steak n Shake’s open all night.

Ever since the federal government made unemployment more profitable than most fast food jobs, those chains are forced to raise their wages to maintain a workforce. Now they can’t afford to stay open all night.

Any Waffle House after midnight in ATL is a fantastic way to get murdered. Also not fast food.

I don’t disagree with you at all, just came from taco bell which is the only place even open at this hour right now where I live and it was backed out to the street. I turned around and will find something at the house

Not sure where you live, but there are plenty of restaurants open late near me. Most things are pretty much back to normal, though Destroya may be trying to shut it all down again.

Today wasn’t Kroger. I have a per diem job as well that pays much better.

I don’t disagree with you because I rarely eat fast food but sometimes you just want some. Also we are all on our way out and not everyone has a Nymeria like you to live for

Sounds like you don’t know what it means.

quote:

Per diem employees work on an as-needed basis. While per diem means "for each day" and not "as-needed," a per diem role applies to someone who may be needed one day but not the next.

That is exactly how I would describe this job.

How else would you describe a job that I only work 2 days a month with no commitment on my part? They tell me which days they might need my help and I pick them. That’s the definition of a per diem job.

Everyone always associates per diem with nurses or substitute teachers but you would 100% classify this job as per diem on an application in previous employment section.

Dude, go to a Waffle House, get a shitty steak with some friend eggs, hash browns all the way, and shite your brain out when you get home. McDonald’s is for figs
