A 40-year-old man is battling for his life in Irriri Health Center III in Napak district after he was bitten on his hind head by a camel he had bought to slaughter on Christmas for sell. The camel victim has only been identified as Nangorudula, a resident of Irriri Town Council in Irriri Sub County. Cosmos Koriang, an eye witness told URN on Thursday that the camel attacked Nangorudula when and 15 other people tried to trap it before they slaughter it for sale on Christmas day. He says that all was well until, when the men armed with machetes attempted to throw a rope past the camels back.

Koriang says that on sensing danger, the camel pounced on the owner, picking him up by the neck –head area and rolled him in the air before throwing him about five meters away. He says that the rest of men took to their heels as Nangorudula struggled for his life in the air. He says by the time residents gathered with spears and clubs among others the victim lay in comma with blood all over his body. Koriang says that the residents managed to kill the camel after struggling for several hours. Nangorudula was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
