Waiting tables was the easiest job I’ve ever had, and I made great money. I would do it again if I was in college, beats hourly wage.

Weird, I've been told so many times lately that its slave labor.

Opposite for me. I am a terrible multi-tasker. I worked at a Ruby Tuesday for like three months in college before I gave up. Went to work at UPS instead. I'll take hard, manual labor over waiting tables any day.

It also really just depends on where you work. Corporate chains are indeed really shitty to work for. Local, smaller restaurants is where its at.

thought once federal unemployment in Louisiana ran out this problem would be solved.

1 million Louisiana customers were just without power. Doubt much hiring has been done since aug 28th.

It's more about the management at the restaurant. I worked for a small, local place in college and it absolutely sucked because the owner's wife was so awful. I worked at Olive Garden as well, and it was mostly fine, and pretty easy. Tips sucked there though.

No, it's spelled queue. That's what the Brits wait in.

You been in WNC lately? My wife has been looking everywhere for glass jars to can our last vegetables and she can’t find them. She tried Family Dollar in Murphy, NC as a last resort and they were closed with a sign apologizing for the closure due to a lack of staff. She drove an hour there and was pretty pissed to say the least

If there is one thing I couldn't care about less its someone complaining that they have a wait at a restaurant.

Go somewhere else. If they also have a wait, go somewhere else. If everywhere else has a wait, go home and cook your own food. Or just wait.

You dont have a right to prompt seating at a restaurant. The idea of restaurants are luxury services by every definition.

Youre not goint to starve to death and nobody is making you go out.

The Whataburger here has closed the lobby/dine in due to staff shortage. 5 cars in the drive-thru = 30 minutes. Stomping on the definition of fast food.
