has the government ever done anything positive with our tax dollars? Like ever?

The national park system comes to mind.

Daddy FDA already allows the shite you’re complaining about. He’s talking about private companies, so the opposite would be government control of the food supply. Keep up, man, this is pretty simple stuff.

Your logic is illogical. That’s why it seems simple to you.

You are obviously a young know it all. You can’t converse without throwing a tantrum. You’re so smart yet you don’t know shite.

We simply need the FDA to enforce the proper labeling of food (which it seems to be doing as far as I can tell)

Nope.

They allow all kinds of labels for manufacturers to hide stuff.

"Natural flavors" and the like. Supposedly to protect trade secrets, but what they use it for is to hide things like MSG.

Also the "Secret GRAS Pathway" routinely allows untested ingredients in the (processed) food.

stealing millions of acres of land for "the people" definitely a positive just like making millions of Americans fat, poor and uneducated.

I'm more concerned about the things we consider "natural" than I am about junk food. What drugs are being given to our livestock? What pesticides are sprayed on our crops? What chemicals are in our water supply?

The junk food issue is simple—just don't buy it. It's expensive to eat enough to feel satisfied, and it's packed with calories that can lead to weight gain and diabetes. A little self-control goes a long way.

There are plenty of quick, convenient snacks beyond fruits, vegetables, and nuts that don’t require cooking or contain a long list of unpronounceable ingredients. I keep things like Oscar Boneless & Skinless Sardines, Lindt 85% Dark Chocolate, and FAGE Total 5% Greek Yogurt on hand. Even sweet treats like Bonne Maman jellies don't have to be full of unknown chemicals. The point is, you don’t need to buy "chemistry experiment" foods if you don't want to.

I’m not that young. I haven’t interacted with you at all, yet your first response to me is “throwing a tantrum”. Glass houses and what not.

How do you know that I don’t “know shite”? I can guarantee you that I know far more about exercise and nutrition than you do.

Yep, I guess my point was that it always had dyes in it.

I’m sorry your intellect is so poor that you need the government to make decisions for you. Remember when you guys made the food pyramid, told us that margarine was healthier than butter, etc? Good times

Instead of Kamaling it up as an alter all over the board, you should probably take this time to garner some education, formal or informal, because you’re not going to make it far in life being this dumb and needy.

Oh well, a government leech who is part of the problem wants to educate us. Let’s listen up, everyone!

Imagine flexing that you’ve worked for the FDA!

Are you retarded? I don’t need the government to make decisions for me.

You’ve obviously not paid any attention to what I was saying in my initial posts in this thread.

This is correct.

When you depend on government to protect consumers, this is what you get.

The FDA may be the most corrupt government agency in the first world.

Calls for increased regulation, then calls someone making regulations a leech.

What do you do for a living?

Which is leaps and bounds more than you, fed.

I’m still laughing about a government bureaucrat flexing about their job.
