It's 2018... as a country, why are we STILL changing our clocks twice a year?

It seems like damn near everyone is against the time changing twice a year.

This seems like a simple piece of legislation that everyone would be on board with.

Why do we STILL have to do this nonsense. It's the dumbest shite. And not every state does it:

quote:

Not everyone in the United States springs forward and falls back. Hawaii and Arizona—with the exception of the state’s Navajo Nation—do not observe daylight saving time, and the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands also remain on standard time year-round.

I say pick one time and stick with it. I personally prefer the "daylight saving time" period we are currently on right now because it gets darker later. But either way, I'm fine as long as we stick with one time.

And if we didn't, you'd probably be starting posts in a month bitching about it being dark at 8 am.

I wish we’d stay on daylight savings time year round. I’d rather have the extra hour of daylight after work to be able to get outdoor work around the house done after work on a weekday and have weekends free to enjoy. And its nice not having to wake up as early for hunting or fishing when sunrise isnt until after 7:00

Crazy idea: move the clocks a half an hour in either direction one time and call it a lifetime

I say fix the illegal Alien/Foreign National problem first, then we can talk about this "issue." Until then, I will remember to set my clock back tomorrow (Sunday morning) after LSU kicks Bama's arse.

The better question is why is it spring forward and fall back? It seems like like the other way around would make everything kinda all the same instead of it getting dark at 830 in summer and 6 o’clock in the winter

I guess because it keeps sunrise times closer in winter and summer. Without fall back, sunrise wouldnt be until 7:30-8:00 in the winter...which would be my preference
