A few things I've learned in life - when LNCHBOX, TH03, Salmon, and the great slackster are all on one side of a topic, that's the correct fricking side.

What? The source is the vocabulary.com page for Laurel.

This originated because the kid played it and he and his friends hear Laurel and yanny mixed. He posted it out and it went viral fast because people incorrectly think they hear yanny.

It's all in the links in the OP.

I understand that may not be possible scientifically, but the logic holds. We don't have to actually see the same color in our brain as long as we know it's red.

technically, if everyone started to say green is now blue and blue is now green then the "color" would be different but the light reflected won't change. No matter what your brain perceives, the light is still reflected off the object the same.

I don't know how much clearer I can put this. It is a recording of the word Laurel. Hearing anything else means you have shitty hearing.

I could understand hearing a different sound from various sources, but people who hear different things from the same source and people who hear yanny from the link in the OP are wrong.

What? The source is the vocabulary.com page for Laurel.

And on that page it's clearly laurel. So what? Source material...

You don't seem to understand me either. I clearly hear "Laurel," however, if I focus my ears on the higher pitches in the recording, I can also clearly hear Yanny. Therefore I can understand what both sides of this conversation are talking about. Based on the pitches your mind focuses on, you could hear either one. I don't see how y'all have been arguing about this for so long.

Yeah I do. You think you hear Yanny. I understand that if you put it at a higher frequency it would sound different but you know it's the same.

Tool to hear both

Cool, but that's not what's being said so your ears are playing tricks on you.

Yeah I guess that's my point.

What you see is the same as everyone else (assuming no colorblindness). How your brain interprets it doesn't matter as long as you call it the same thing everyone else calls it.

I'm glad you understand that some people have a malfunction in their brain that causes them to hear the wrong word.

Cool.

I'm great. I love watching stubborn ignorance unfold.

Scroll down to the video lower on this page. I don't know how to embed it. If you don't hear both, you have issues.
