If you want to really freak people out, when they say "I hear yanny," tell them "exactly, it's laurel!" As if you you hear laurel coming out of the person's mouth when they say yanny.

It's an audio trick that your brain is doing. Of course the word is meant to be Laurel; but it sounds like yanny or laurel when you listen to it. I've clearly heard both on multiple occasions. If you only hear one, then I guess you have the shitty ears baw.

I'd rather hear the one the speaker intended than have sensitive hearing that completely misses the fricking word.

I'm curious if the people you only hear yanny still hear yanny when it's played from the original source

Laurel has two Ls. There are no Ls in that word. Your ears are broken.

I don't know how much clearer I can put this. It is a recording of the word Laurel. Hearing anything else means you have shitty hearing.

It might look like a different hue of the color but it will be the same color unless you are colorblind which is a defect in the processing of the light wavelengths. Color is the light that is reflected from the object. This means it's the same for everyone.

Gotcha. So something has happened to the bass/treble since it was taken from that site which is messing with people's minds. Maybe some added background noise or something that's distorting it.

You could not be more full of shite than you are being in this thread. It depends on the source.

Yeah I get that, but green to you and green to me could be absolutely different, but as long as we both call it green, nothing changes. I understand that may not be possible scientifically, but the logic holds. We don't have to actually see the same color in our brain as long as we know it's red.

There is no 'n' or 'y' in laurel so you are incorrect since the source material is pronouncing laurel. Your ears are broken. Go to the health/fitness board and see if a doctor can schedule you in.

You're not understanding what is going on, at all.
