Yeah, I just don't get the argument. If you heard Yanny, you are wrong no matter if you heard it or not. It IS Laurel and if you heard differently, you just suck at hearing things correctly.

It's an audio trick that your brain is doing. Of course the word is meant to be Laurel; but it sounds like yanny or laurel when you listen to it. I've clearly heard both on multiple occasions. If you only hear one, then I guess you have the shitty ears baw

Cool, but that's not what's being said so your ears are playing tricks on you.

Tool to hear both

That tool is pretty cool. I heard laurel in the middle. I went all the way to the yanny side next, and I still heard laurel, but I could hear the pitch where people might hear yanny. I went all the way to the laurel side next, and it was clearly laurel, so I went back to yanny and couldn't hear laurel there anymore.

None of that changes that the original recording is laurel, was meant to be laurel, and hearing anything else can only be considered a flaw with your hearing.

You're like a color blind person yelling at a non-color blind person that he's wrong and an idiot for seeing a difference between red and green.

This would be right if the thing they were looking at was clearly just red.

You talking about the guy doing the different frequencies? I heard Laurel all three times.

Sure, that's why I included it in the quote...

If you don't understand my point by now, it's a lost cause. Enjoy arguing about this for the rest of the day

In this argument, I'd be the non-colorblind person and "yanny" people would be the colorblind people.

My computer made it sound like Yanny, then I put in headphones and listened on my phone later in the day and it was clearly laurel. I was convinced for a second that the person with the twitter post was just constantly editing the audio to frick with people

You're hearing something that isn't there and saying I have bad hearing.

That means you've lost your highs. Lots of concerts in your past? Recreational shooting?

Yes and yes haha

I do hear a resemblance to the word yanny in the tool page I linked but only at the super high range

What good are the highs if they make us hear shite that wasn't the intention of the speaker?

NYT tool

If you can hear laurel at every range on that tool, bravo, because it means your ears cut out the bullshite and let you hear what's intended at all times.

I have few regrets in life, but not wearing earplugs in the 80's is one of them.

As do I, but there is no way these yanny fricks can hear anything but laurel when the tool is all the way to the left.
