It's been 10-15 years since I read it but recall thinking it was written very well and from an angle you don't hear about often. Let's face it, fans are brutal at times and that can weigh on players that are only teenagers in grown man bodies.

The chapter on the player that was paralyzed during the pool party always sticks with me also. Life can change in a moment's notice.

I thought John Ed came across as a whiny and self loathing tbh.

Any thoughts?

I've been in Tiger Stadium when it rained. A lot. It was more fun when I was a student.

That because the whole saying is..."It NEVER rains in Tiger Stadium...IT POURS!!!"

If you went to the Miami game in 1988 you know exactly what I mean.

There’s lots of hot takes in here.

It’s a memoir, of course it’s about himself. Read ‘Fighting Tigers’ if you want to learn about LSU history.

John Ed’s struggle is probably very typical of CFB stars when their days come to an end. Not many get the chance to shine on Sundays.

He did whine. He did bitch. That’s what people do when they hit a rough patch in life.
